When you travel by car, bus, or flight, fuel burning releases CO₂. We estimate emissions as:
CO₂ from Car = Distance (km/day) × 0.12 kg × 365 days
(0.12 kg CO₂ per km for an average petrol car)
Electricity generation often comes from coal, gas, or oil. We calculate:
CO₂ from Electricity = Monthly kWh × 0.92 kg × 12
(0.92 kg CO₂ per kWh is a global average)
Finally, we add all emissions together:
Total CO₂ = Travel + Electricity + Food
